Mount Agung View
Mount Agung is the highest mountain in Bali which has 3.142 meters high
above sea level. At the bottom of Mount Agung, there are two large
temples are called Besakih Temple, which is the largest temple in Bali
and Pasar Agung Temple.
We can climb Mount Agung
from various directions. The two shortest and most popular routes are
from Pura Besakih (Besakih Temple), on the southwest side of the
mountain and from Pura Pasar Agung (Pasar Agung Temple), on the southern
slopes.
The regular route starts from Pasar Agung Temple, a 30 minutes drive from Selat
village. It takes around 3 to 4 hours or about 5.5 KM of ascension will arrive at the
crater rim (2880 m). On clear day we can see the sun to rise behind the
Rinjani in nearby Lombok with great views south and east. If you want to
see the sun rise you can start at 2 AM.
The route from Besakih Temple takes about 5 hours our about 8.5KM to reach the cater rim.
The route is more extreme which is advisable for really experienced trekkers only..
You can enjoy the sunrise while having your breakfast that has been prepared on the spot. You are also able to take
pictures around it.You will be able to see the
oval-shaped crater by looking straight down into it which is about
